Why do a DBS?reading

The majority of Christians in this days society says they believe in the God of the Bible and they know what He says is true, but do they know the truth for themselves or based off of what someone tells them? The DBS was created so this generation can have access to the real truths and context of what the Bible was originally intended for. There is a revival happening in this generation that hasn’t happened before. People all over are rising up saying they want to take their place in the story of Jesus. The story of Jesus is God’s redemptive plan from the beginning of time. During the DBS we follow the redemptive plan and see how God longs for every tribe, nation, and tongue to declare His glory, know His character, and walk in His ways.

At the end of the 3 month journey through the Bible students will be given an opportunity to travel on an overseas outreach. So far we have taken a trip to Europe to minister to Middle Eastern refugees as well as India to minister at an orphanage. Our heart is to go to the least reached nations of the world to partner with leaders who are passionate about reaching the unreached!

Why Boston?DBS-family

Boston is a city of great historical and spiritual significance. Hundreds of years ago, people from other nations came to Boston with an appetite for adventure and desperation for religious freedom. Colonies were set up to be God-honoring societies. Harvard University was originally founded to train ministers and missionaries for the advancement of the Christian faith in the New World. Today, the same world-renowned university pulls in bright minds from around the globe to train them to be leaders in every area of society….except the church. When YWAM Boston’s founders landed here in 2006, they had a great sense of God’s purposes for this great city. They felt God’s aching heart to see Boston returned to its roots to be a beacon of Truth.

What do we believe?

There are people in the church who have a skewed view of God due to past experiences with those around them, and we look to dig into the Bible so that God’s true character is revealed and we can see Him for who He truly is. We believe God is awakening our nation and is birthing the greatest missions movement ever seen leading to the greatest global harvest of souls in history! We believe that God is awakening this generation to Himself and to His heart for the nations. There is a “yes” in their hearts and we exist to help them see it! We believe that the Bible invites us into the greatest story ever told, a story that needs to be heard and telling this story is worth our lives! Thousands from our generation are hearing the call to go to the nations. How will we equip them to go to the hardest and darkest places on earth? We exist to serve this generation by offering accessible, dynamic and transformative Biblical training.”

Come, join us!Journaling

Our campus is located just 4 miles from downtown Boston. It is in close proximity to the many colleges and universities in and around the city. In the DBS you will also engage in practical ministry outreaches, such as interviewing college & university students regarding the things you’re learning, and ministering to disadvantaged urban youth. This rhythm of both learning and then interacting with people is twofold: It will lead you to contemplate and reflect on what you’re being taught about God in the Bible and it will allow you to practical see how God’s word translates into issues of today and is relevant in a widely post-Christian society with differing worldviews. Our desire, while you’re immersed in the Word, is that you would encounter the living God as you read His story. We pray you will also experience God’s presence through our corporate times of worship and prayer sets. It all comes together to form the whole picture of who God is and what He has done for us. We can’t help but love Him and continue to learn more about God and we pray you would also.
