Why do a DBS?

Are you ready to see transformation in your own life, and in the lives of those around you?  The DBS gives you an opportunity to dig deep into the Bible, read through all 66 books, and gain an overall perspective of God’s story.
You will learn techniques for effective Bible study, and a series of guest speakers will help unlock the Bible’s fascinating content.
Although each book is studied to discover its original intent, you will also be taught on different themes that run through God’s story. For example, you might look at Leadership and Worship as you study the life of David in 1 & 2 Samuel, Chronicles, and the Psalms. Each book is filled with insights to be discovered and applied!
In addition to putting God’s truth into practice in your personal life, you will have the opportunity to go on a two week outreach and share God’s words with individuals and communities in Papua New Guinea.

Why Papua New Guinea?

Papua New Guinea is one of the most diverse nations on earth with over 800 languages and 1,000 tribes! It is known as the land of the unexpected, and is a nation ready for discipleship and open to God’s word.

School Leader

Michelle Watson

G’day from an Aussie who loves God and really enjoys reading God’s word with people from many cultures and nations!  God’s word is powerful, and I am so thankful we have access to the bible in languages that we understand.   I am consistently thankful as I apply God’s truth in my own life, and see others apply it in their lives too.  God is at work to see nations transformed one person at a time.
Michelle studied an Associate Degree in Christian Missions, before completing her DTS and joining YWAM as a full time volunteer in 2007.   Michelle has led numerous DTS’s and helped pioneer DBS in YWAM Lausanne, YWAM Townsville, and is looking forward to seeing it multiplied in PNG too.
